i did. my first time not in a 'burb. it was....interesting.
1st, i am used to voting at a rec center or elementary school. today i voted at the courthouse downtown! whoot!
i am used to there being a shitload of people and signs and shit everywhere. nope. thank god i had the actual address! behind all the construction barriers, there was an 8x11 peice of paper taped to the window that said "official polling place". that's it. and the three guys checking to make sure you were a registered voter? the smallest and OLDEST men i have ever seen! i swear they were 400 years old. i mean, i am used to the retired folks working the elections, but jeez.
and last but not least, only 3 polling booths. not the 30 i am used to in the gym. just 3 lonely plastic booths.
so, it took me all of 3 minutes to fill out the ballot since i did my research online the night before and had my cheat sheet with me.
i am for gay marriage and the new homeless shelter. and for judges to be able to deny bail to murdering sons of bitches that want to kill their wives. and a strong mayor if only so she (or he) can beat the crap out of the city council because, let's face it, the dallas city council are a bunch of morons.
other than that? i am going to a funeral tomorrow afternoon. that sucks. i hate funerals. i mean, i balled like a baby during the finale of "my fair brady" for pete's sake. that should tell you how my afternoon will be.
